Anyone aware of a good apartment building /condo neighborhood to rent for a PSU student's parents? I'm sure plenty of the buildings in the town center are geared toward students, but an area like Toftrees seems to have a pretty good mix. (We're thinking of checking it out for a possible retirement spot.)

You might want to consider places that are geared towards retirement age people in State College. The Village at Penn State is a good one, and it offers independent living in cute condos minutes from campus. Find it here:
The Village at Penn State . I'm not sure about Toftrees, but many apartments have students in them. However, I think Toftrees would be a safe bet. Another opition would be to live a few minutes outside of town. I believe there are new condo neighborhoods in Boalsburg, as well as Bellefonte. Good luck searching!
