my job has relocated me to our montoursville office. I am an african american coming from middle class racially diverse community. I have 3 small children and are looking for a nice area to raise them, with good schools, and a culturally rounded community. I appreciate anyone that could give me any information or assistance. thank you very much.

I graduated from Montoursville and back then (1980) there were no minorities in the schools. I'm not sure if things have changed at all there or not. I'd guess not that much.

If you don't want to be in Williamsport itself, I would suggest Loyalsock Township, between Montoursville and Williamsport. The schools are excellent (they were our biggest rival back then so shhhh, don't tell my classmates that I said that - LOL - ) and it seems to be a culturally rounded community with lots of things to do, nice tree-lined streets in some areas, especially just a bit east and west of Divine Providence Hospital in the Grampian Boulevard area, and not too far from Lycoming College (which is actually in Williamsport).

You could also go the other direction to Muncy, but I think Loyalsock schools are better than Muncy schools. Good luck with your relocation!

Default thanks for the reply

Hey Dawne, thank you very much for replying to my post. That information will be very helpful to me and my family in our decision to choose a community that best suits us. We plan to come down there before i start work on the 15th of august, and that will definately be the first place we look at. So thanks again Dawne for the info.
