Some friends and I will be in town for a good majority of the day since their band is playing somewhere this coming Sunday. I haven't been to the area in at least 10 years so I'm pretty unfamiliar with what's awesome there.

What's a good place to grab some food? Nothing fancy, a burger joint or similar place works just fine. Anything that isn't a chain since there's plenty everywhere else I go. I checked Yelp but I figured it'd be easier to try to get an answer from some locals as to what's good. Much appreciated.

*edit, our destination is at or around 154 W Third Street so walking distance would be a plus.

The Bullfrog Brewery looks interesting. How is the beer there?

Dunno. Personally I don't drink beer(tried it a few times, yuck) but it seems like a popular place with those that do. I know all the times I ate there they made their own root beer soda, which was pretty damn good.

I had a burger at the Bullfrog Brewery a few years ago when I was in town to do my photo tour for this forum, and I really enjoyed my experience there. I'm also not a beer drinker, though, so I can't help you there. Sorry.

Good deal and no problem. Always game for a good burger, and although the people I'm going with do not drink at all, they're always down for some root beer that isn't Mug or Barg's. I think I'm sold. Thanks.

The Bullfrog is a quality place, and the Brickyard - a fairly new entry off Pine Street - has really good burgers. I'm partial to Franco's, though, where you're treated like family from your very first visit.

Haven't heard of the Brickyard, I'll check it out. I looked at the menu online and it looks like some good stuff. I could just eat a sampling off of the appetizer menu alone.
