I'll start off with some very good news for Lancaster county which has been doing quite well on the housing front:

Lancaster County pending home sales up 25 percent in July
By Paula Holzman

Lancaster County's housing market is on the rebound after a rough start to 2009, according to the Lancaster County Association of Realtors (LCAR).

Pending home sales in the county jumped 25 percent in July compared with the same month last year, according to the Manheim Township-based group.

Pending home sales in most price ranges increased for July, most notably in the $200,000 to $300,000 range (up 28 percent) and the $300,000 to $400,000 range (up 32 percent), LCAR said.

"The July numbers confirm something many of us in the industry have recognized for quite some time - that Lancaster County's housing market is performing quite well," LCAR President Scott Ulrich said in a statement.

Actual home sales in the county dropped 3 percent in July compared with the year-ago period, LCAR said, and the average home price dipped slightly, from $179,900 in 2008 to $175,000.

The Lancaster County housing market started 2009 with a more than 20 percent drop in sales and an almost 10 percent price decline compared with January 2008.

Default Lancaster County thread

Thanks for doing this - how can I add this thread to my subscribed forums? I am trying to find it but can't. Can you share the thread name with me?
I have been somewhat frustrated since many post in the York/Lancaster thread that seems to service two areas one in PA and one near Charlotte. Hard to go through and figure out which ones are applicable.

At the top of the page, there's a button for 'thread tools' and one of the choices would be "subscribe to this thread." Click that and you're all set.
