What is there to do in Juniata anyways? I'm talking night life. I looked up all the bars there are and none even have a website. Not a good sign

I'm just a guy working in the area for maybe two months.

What are the places to eat at? And come 9pm Friday night, where's the party at? I need some socializationing with others.

Harrisburg or State College.

There are bars in Perry County, and in Lewistown.

But danwxman is right -- you are definitely looking for Harrisburg But the Seven Mountains pass might be fun on a winter night driving with a full load on

Does 'socializationing' involve 'conversating'?

Yes. I'd just like to go to a place that is a little more than a dive bar. Somewhere where women like to go to instead of 30 guys sitting around a big screan TV. Know what I mean? I'm not there to pick up women but the sausage fest gets old real fast.

I just didn't want to drive 45min after work to get there. I guess there really isn't anything in the area. I knew I should have taken that job in Lycoming County. Boring two months for me I guess

This might be the funniest question I've heard in some time. I lived in Mifflin county for ten years, not exactly a hotbed of nightlife itself, and not once did we think of slipping down to Juniata county for anything except maybe a church supper or a late night meal at Stop 35.

Seriously, the biggest excitement we ever had, in the entire county, was asking the waitress what the difference was between "wet nuts" and "dry nuts". Ok, juvenile, I know...but hey, they were on the menu at .25 cents a serving.

I think the big spot for everything in Juniata County is the Sheetz at the Mifflintown exit off of US 22/322. It's your one stop shop for eating, socializing, and partying...well, maybe not the last one, at least during the 99%+ of the year that doesn't occur on a Saturday after a Penn State football home victory.

As for things to do, do you like hunting? Hey, it's socializing with deer...sort of.

So... the guy who posted in December of 2009 looking for a little night life should have gone to the young gymnastics center or the ballerina school? Hmmm.
