I know it's snowing at Shawnee right now, and they are supposed to get 10 inches or more of new snow by tonight. I am leaving Friday night and driving up (from VA) to my sister's in DE, and then Sat morning we are driving to Shawnee for the weekend.

I know the road crews get out faster up there...but I am a bit concerned about the area roads around Shawnee - anyone been there when there was this much snow? Do the generally get it clear within a couple of days?

You should be just fine by Saturday morning. This is a huge snowfall and right now the Interstates in PA are closed by order of the governor, but there are two more days before your trip.

Travel/tourism in the Poconos is a staple of the economy, and they are not going to allow you skiers to be kept out by impassable roads

I live about 20 miles from there and the roads are bad right now, but it just stopped snowing. Within a day or two, it will be OK.

Thank you! I was hoping that was the case.
