Okay...how many motorcycle lovers and bikers plan to attend Johnstown's annual motorcycle rally - Thunder in the Valley - from June 21 through 24?

This year they expect to draw an audience of approx. 100,000 people. This is a great opportunity to visit Johnstown and see what we're all about!! We get bikers from all over. We have concerts, an outdoor mall, a "kiddieland" and motorcycles, motorcycles & more motorcycles!! It all (90%) takes place in downtown Johnstown and they line the streets. You can walk along and see all the specialty bikes, cool paint jobs, etc. They have poker runs and a couple activities in the surrounding areas, also. It's a great time.

I have to admit, a great majority of the bikers that come to town are good people. Once you get past their sometimes gruff exterior, they are down to earth people. Quite a few are professionals, some are doctors, engineers and the like.

So, how 'bout it? How many of you CD folk plan to make an appearance? Just curious

Default Day 3...

Well, it's been roaring here lately Today (6/23) is the third day of the rally. Friday night (6/22) we had a concert at the newly renovated/rebuilt Point Stadium with The Clarks from Pittsburgh. It was a great show!

There are tons of vendors all over downtown selling shirts, 'doo-rags', and food ... lots and lots of food, including (but not limited to) pierogies, kielbassa, Italian sausage, gobs, pizza, stromboli, Mexican & Chinese food, and more! It seems everyone you meet is friendly and all enjoying themselves.

Today was the parade (which I had to detour around) and more and more bikers everywhere. They have music in central park and the library had kiddie events in their parking lot. There was absolutly no place to park downtown. They have shuttles running from the high school and mall/shopping centers to downtown. Everywhere you look the motorcycles line the streets downtown, and you'll see them all over the area, usually in packs .

Tomorrow (6/24) is the final (official) day of the rally. There are those that hang around until Monday (6/25), less traffic. Hope those who are interested will come on by next year for a great time
