Hi, My husband, child (age 2) and I will be relocating to Pa. We are looking for an area that is very family orianted, good schools, and where we can buy a nice 4 bedroom, newer construction home for 250k or less. My family lives in Staten Island so we would like to be within a 2 hr drive from them. My husband will be traveling alot with his job so we would like to be within 30 mins of an airport as well. We perfer the suburbs with all major shopping within a 15 min drive. If anyone could recommend any areas it would be much appreciated. Thank You!!!

I am kind of befuddled here.

Travel times is determined by the level of traffic and the time of day in the city.
It might take you two hours just to get out of the state of New York from Staten Island..

I guess Bethlehem or Allentown would be your closest options.

I agree. There's no way you can find a 4 bedroom home at that price and still be relatively close to the city. I could be proven wrong, but you're probably going to have to either bump up your budget, settle for a smaller house (a 3 bed may work), or try to get your husband to find a job here.

You could live in the Scranton, Wilkes-Barre area for that price. Not sure about new construction though.

I would suggest renting for a year since you are new to the area. This way you can get to know the local towns and research your ideal location.
