Hi,
My husband and I are moving to Pensacola with our 3 kids. Need help with the neighborhoods?
We are looking to rent in 3 different places: 1)Mariners Oaks subdivision by Ramsey Beach 2)Pleasant Grove/Coral Creek 3) Northpointe subdivision/Ferry Pass
Would anyone be able to tell me about these areas? Are they decent or "ghetto" ? We have a 12 year old- are there any good middle schools , other than in Gulf Breeze?

Default Pensacola-Neighborhoods and Schools

Hello,
Northpointe Subdivision homes normally sale in the range of $200-300,000 homes. It is a good neighborhood. This is the east side of town near the hospitals and malls.

The other two subdivisions that you are considering are on the west side of town...primary a military area.
The Mainers Oaks subdivision is off of a very busy road called Blue Angels Hwy. It is the main road that takes you into the back gate of NAS military base.
Mainers Oaks homes normally sale in the $200,000 to mid $100,000 range. It to is a good subdivision with very nice homes.

Coral Creek is an average. Not bad. There are apartments and small homes surrounding the neighborhood. The homes vary in age.

Great Elementary schools are: Blue Angel Elementary, Hellen Caro Elementary, Cordova Park Elementary, Scenic Heights Elementary.

The best Middle school is: Jim Bailey Middle School
Another possibility is: Ramson Middle in Cantonment

Let me clarify all the teachers and administrators try hard and are great. These are just the schools that have better clients and top schools mostly because of involved families and higher educated parents.

Pensacola is a great place to live. I love it. I lived in Gulf Breeze/Pensacola for 22 years. I wouldn't move to the west side of town. The north side of town is nice. We have anything on this side... Malls, shopping, Restarants (all kinds), anything and everything. Anywhere in Brownsville NO NO. DO NOT send your kids to Workman Middle! But now Gulf Breeze is a very nice place to live. If you can afford it. Hope this helps

All the neighborhoods you are considering are good. Is Mariner Oaks in the Bellview Middle school area? If so....maybe stay away. They are not the best. You could try for Beulah Elementary and Middle School. They are doing well. Pine Forest High School has slipped but West Florida High School has a good name. I love the West side of Pensacola because it is a LOT less busy than the East side. You are half an hour away from hospitals and malls. If that is important to you, stick with the East side. If I could do it all over again I would settle in Gulf Breeze. The schools are so great. I wish you a great time in Pensacola. You will love our life here.
