Sometimes when you reach out to a birth parent you have to give them time to absorb the information. A phone call is usually not the way to start. A letter is a good way. Perhaps you could mail a letter, with a photo if you have one, and a self addressed stamped envelope. If you send them your contact information they may get back in touch with you. A phone call is a real shocker. AND the other members of the family may not know about you....
