The reasons she wont tell me is because shes embarrassed about what he might say to her because she never tried to contact him and tell him she was pregnant. Ive tried to I was blue in the face and it always comes back to this reason.

That can also be a great suggestion - I think if you have a facebook account you can post pictures which the public (and friends) can see. They in turn can 'tag' a picture of someone they recognize which creates a link to the picture and is sent to you (the original poster). So I'm going to suggest creating or enlarging your facebook account, change the options to 'public' so strangers can view your pictures and then post the old pictures you have, with the hope someone may recognize and 'tag' him. I guess it wouldn't hurt if you threw in a few buzz words that search engines will pick up like: Korea, cold war, 'free Iphone'

rockinmomma and Jersied have given you good ideas.
Many army mates, stay mates. It's only be 20 years or so since 1988.
Get that photo on Facebook and get as many eye balls seeing it as you can.
In the mean time maybe some other ideas show up.

Try Alexander Olivera or Alexander Ollivierre.
Were his parents both Americans or could he have mixed ethnicity?

Yes, direct messages are normally answered by direct messages.
On forum comments are usually replied to, on forum.

I know one situation a few months back where the Op answered all direct messages on the forum.
No one knew what question was being answered, and/or who had asked it.

As you try to guess his last name there are limits.
The last name does not start with a consonant.
It likely starts with a vowel.
That's A-E-I-O-U-Y

Based on the way you think his last name is pronounced you are down to A or O.

I think you'll find him through Facebook with your own account and his photo, or the FB page of the 188th.

Good luck.
