I am a 27 y/o female from Dallas, looking for my father. Because I have no information on him, other than the possibility that his last name may be Malone, I have nothing. I have already put my DNA in via Ancestry DNA testing kit, to only find cousins. The closest cousins I have connected with, bare no information, nor any assistance. I have 304+ more people on there from close matches to distant cousins, that either last signed in years ago, or do not even have a last sign in date, no pictures, no tree. I am feeling really anxious to locate him, as I do not want to leave earth without knowledge of him.
I just want to know if there is any resources aside of Ancestry, Gedmatch, Craigslist, a PI, local DNA offices, and writing into shows, as I've done it all. My family also bare no knowledge, and my mother & I lack a relationship and she is uninterested in my search. I really just have the desire to know him, even if he has no desire to know me. It makes me sad to see everyone around with relationships with a father, & I feel left out. No name on Birth certificate. No anything. Please help.

I think they key is to build a relationship with your mother first. She has the info you need to do a search.
I found people with intellius but you need information to do a search first.

What was your source that makes you think his last name may be Malone?
Does your mother know you have DNA results and you do have your own exact date of birth and location of birth from the birth certificate?
From a search a few months ago the birth certificate contained the physical address. Does your's have that as well?

You need to download your raw data and upload it on GEDMatch. That's how my brother and I found each other.
If you have Facebook, join the group the DNA detectives.

See my blog post Family tree and DNA general instructions to try uploading your raw DNA to family tree DNA and My Heritage for free. That will give you 2 more databases to try to find a closer match.
For the close matches that have not logged in, have you tried sending them a message on Ancestry?
You should also consider asking your mother to do one too so you can see what matches belong to her side.

Unfortunately, the OP may not be back. Last Activity: 05-28-2017 06:27 PM
If they do come back, hopefully they check out my blog to upload their DNA to Family Tree DNA and My Heritage. My Heritage now gives ethnicity for free.
I also suggest watching the show Long Lost Family which has been on TLC a lot the last week or so. It will show you how they use DNA along with public family trees to connect dots. One that was on the other night, the adoptee had a 1st cousin and a 2nd cousin. The Long Lost Family host and someone from Ancestry checked the DNA matches, found they both had public trees. From there they compared them to find the common ancestor, then the children of the common ancestor. They then looked at the children's DOB's, 3 were too young to have given birth to the adoptee, which left only one person. They then looked at public records with that person's name, eventually finding them
To watch Long Lost Family, go to the link above or you can download and install the TLC Go app
