He’d be about the same age as me....60, 61. No idea of his middle name. I’ve used the ‘net extensively trying to locate him and am coming up empty.

That number has been disconnected. I'll do it the old fashion way and send a letter to that address in the hopes that it'll garner a response.

This gives me hope. From what is likely his sister's obituary:

"Mary was an avid fan of car racing. She loved to attend the races at Oswego Speedway, and to keep statistics of the action there. She hasn't missed a Classic in many years."

Bill and his family were very much into racing! I'll update this thread as events progress.

Jill returned my call this morning! She had been visiting her daughter and finally checked her messages. It was the first time we’ve spoken since probably 1985 and it was just great. She and Bill divorced, as suspected, and she’ll get his number for me.

His daughter sent me Bill’s number but didn’t tell him who was going to call. When I spoke to him, he said, “You were the first person I thought about.”

It’s likely Bill will be visiting LA in the near future. My wife said, “Looks like we’re going to LA soon” and laughed. She knows me so well.
