I wouldn't know if they were associates. I don't know anyone who would know their mutual hx together, and if the dates/times were inaccurate. This will take further investigation, although I don't know how far I will get as both are deceased. RIP soldiers.
This is a great resource, but he may be too far removed; here's the bottom line: if this indeed was the gentleman in question, he introduced my parents to each other. 'Jack' Elliott was receiving 'letters to a soldier' and had too many to answer while stationed in Korea. He passed one along to my Dad (also stationed in Korea), who then began corresponding with my Mother. My Dad came state-side on a break from active duty, met her, was later honorably discharged, courted her, and they eventually wed. We showed up with warning a few years later (there are three of us). These were two people who were not doing well independently, were dumped on by their parents respectively, and with each other, brilliantly became what their lives should have been. They were a satisfactory complement to each other and enjoyed 49 years of marital bliss.
It is this serendipity in life that keeps people going. Had he still been alive, it would have been fun to: determine if he was the one referenced by my Dad; see if he recalled the incident of sharing letters; and let him know it worked out really well. My brothers and I are brilliant professionals with thriving businesses and success in life. 'Jack' Elliott did right by us, in introducing our parents to each other. And I would have thanked him for his service and the favor we got from what he did.
Yes, my brothers and I agree, we had great parents. My Dad's been gone since 2001 and my Mom died in 2008. All links are disconnected.
One thought for the OP, if you can't find "Jack" use the name John. I don't know if it's common anymore, but Jack is sometimes a nickname for John. I did a quick search for John Elliott.
This seems to fit, except for the GA part. He was in FL which is close to GA and could cause some confusion. There are several other John Elliotts, but this one specifically had the nickname "Jack."
This is a great resource, but he may be too far removed;
If he is the son in law then his wife would be Jack's daughter. If Jack is deceased to communicate wth one of his children would not be of benefit to you?

The larger question is: did Jack know he was introducing a prospective couple to each other when he handed off the letter? Is this the correct Jack? There is no need to introduce conjecture and possibility when there is no valid manner to confirm it. "Jack" could have as well been another fellow, and how many other Jack's were there in Koje Island at that time?
Without confirmation and validation, it is a false hope for a family. Ours knows how well this went. For another group of related people, it would be conjecture at best. Thank you very much nevertheless.
