The school is long gone. How would I find my aunts old school records?
Who might have these? She was 54yrs. old when she passed away, so its been awhile. Help!

Contact the school district headquarters. They should be able to help you or to refer you to where the records are stored. I did that awhile back and got my mother and fathers school records.

Thanks for your reply. I will try that...however.....this is a very small town. I have to wonder, if such a small town would even have a school district headquarters?? They don`t even have a grocery store in this town...
The story is this..My mom is in a suit with a lawyer. The lawyer is in the wrong, and my mom needs to find evidence of her sisters school records, in order to pay for her sisters funeral, that this lawyer is trying to get out of paying. Any advice would be appreciated...

What part of the country are you located? If you don't have a school district headquarters, then you have to have a School State Superintendent whom you should contact and see if they know what, where, or when that happened to the records you're looking for. They should be archived somewhere unless they were in a fire or intentionally burned by some agency, which was common a long time ago, but rare today.
