I've hit the genealogical wall on George and would love some help. What I know about him: born in NY (or MA); probably went to medical school in MA; married Emily Smith in Utica, Oneida County, NY on 18 Nov 1845. Practiced in Verona, NY at least until 1850; by 1857 was in Morris, Grundy County, IL. Died 1873 (presumably in IL). Children: Thomas Curtis Harper b. Jan 1851 in NY (married Julia Hymer?); Albert Edward Harper b. abt 1853 in NY (married Sarah Jane Crecelius); Emma Salina Harper b. abt 1857 in IL (married John J Haas). Thomas and Albert ended up in Kansas (Nemaha and Anderson Counties respectively) and Emily Salina lived in Worth County, Missouri.
If anyone has done any research, is connected to, or knows anything about George's antecedents (or Emily Smith's!) I'd love to hear from you. Topaz
