Ok- thanks to this site, I have been able to locate my grandfather, however, it was too late. He has passed away. I am hoping with a little more help, I can find someone who knew him that is still alive to talk about him. I will list my info below and cross my fingers.
Samuel Noah Gentry
born April 29, 1933
died February 27, 1991 at Folsom State Prison of liver disease/fastrointestinal hemmorage
Mother's name: Claudia Goodnight
Father's name: Jessie Gentry
I believe his SS# is 433-30-1397, issued in Oklahoma.
He served in the Army from June 1955 to September 1955 and was undesirably discharged.
He has at least 3 daughter's that I do have contact with, but they have no information either. Debra Jean Gentry, Patricia Gentry and Barbara Elaine Gentry. He married my grandmother, Willie Mae Edwards sometime prior to 1953, but I can't seem to track down a record of that. The divorce appears to have happened in Washington State around 1955 or so.
The paperwork from Daneri Mortuary states that he has a sister, Carolyn Douglas, and that is where his remains were sent.
Once again, thank you. I am looking for any living relative. Aunt, Uncle, cousin, child, brother, sister....

Do you have a city/state for Carolyn Douglas? Middle name or initial? Age? Anything to narrow it down from the hundreds of people by that name?

I don't have any definites on her. I would assume she lived in the Sacremento area, but have no proof of that. All the letter says is that the ashes were "sent to his sister, Caroline Douglas."
I do apologize for the first spelling of her name. After double checking, this is the correct one.

There is a 60 yr old Caroline Douglas that lived in Sacramento and now lives in New Hampshire.

Well, first you want to establish she's the right person, so you might want to introduce yourself and tell her you're searching for relatives of your grandfather, and ask if she had a brother named Samuel Gentry. If she's the right one, the conversation should flow easily from that point. If not, apologize for disturbing her, come back here and we'll try again.
