There are new laws around the country in various states that help adoptees and sibling adoptees find each other, birth certificates, etc. Check the thread started by Tamara Vargas on page 3 of the people forum. There is a link there that explains how many states have adopted far less restrictive rules on how adoptees and their siblings, etc. can get the records (they seemingly should have a right to get )

Call the vital records office in the county or state where you think Paula and Melissa were adopted. Tell them you want to know how the new laws can help you get records.

Hello, I am the adopted sister of Melissa. My name is Sharon. I am sooooo happy to hear that you have found her mother in law! This is a shock to Melissa but I tell you, something she needs dearly in her life as the passing of our parents was very hard on her. Please know that she was raised in a good family with an older sister (myself) and three younger brothers. Oh I am so excited for her! :-)
