I tend to agree. You can get a good FICO score by paying off credit card balances every month without paying any finance charges. I don't think it's worthwhile to voluntarily borrow at a higher rate than you can get for the money you're holding simply to try to increase your FICO score. We have allowed ourselves to become to enslaved to the whole FICO system, which is really designed to insure that we're forever yoked to debt. Rise above it all, keep the debt as low as possible and use it strategically. Don't become a cog in this rotten system.
