If you are just going for a few days you are probably doing the right thing. Obviously you can't take it out with an ATM card and unless you use a bank with branches in LV you aren't going to be able to take it out at once. If you are gambling with it you can transfer it to the casino's account and use it when you get to town, but I suspect you don't want them to know who you are. As for getting searched, few thieves are out trolling airport security lines looking for someone to hit once they get to Vegas. If necessary just put it in a coat or sweatshirt and send it through security. If they want to inspect it tell them you want it in a private area and they will oblige.

Of course you are likely to have a problem. It's not illegal per se to travel with that much cash - but TSA is perfectly within their right to interrogate you about it and they will. There is no "dollar limit" for the TSA to start asking you questions and monitoring all aspects of your responses. And when they spot suspicious activity that may relate to criminal activity, they will get the police involved. By the way, trying to hide it will make it look even more suspicious when they uncover it. So you had better be able to account for the money and have a good story as to why you're traveling with it, or you will find yourself sitting in the back of a squad car for a while.

You could avoid this by putting it into a bank account and withdrawing it at your destination.

If asked...illl simply say that im going to vegas and plan on gambling.

Since he seems to be avoiding the questions I'll assume it's for illegal reasons.

I came back from Vegas with roughly 10k in my pockets last month. Didn't even get any funny looks.

Nonissue.

Make sure you tape the bills to your inner thighs. You should have no issues if you go this route.

I second the earlier post...say it's for hookers and blow if they ask. That should confound their pea-brains.

You must have no idea why people go to Vegas.

I think you'll be OK, either way, though.
Aren't there limits on withdrawals on your debit card?

Aside from ATMs, I didn't see a whole lot of convenient places on the strip to service your general banking needs.
