Depends if I was paying or if it was the company dime. I dropped 300 for two at Iron Chef Morimotos in Philly. After than it was $85 at Shulas original steak house in 1997.
I never spent more than $140 for two - including a bottle of wine (not over $30). But that was a few years ago.
After reading these posts i think it's time I lived a little and did one of those expensive tasting menus at a French restaurant in Boca. Yeah, that's what i'll do. Even then it shouldn't cost much more than $200!
The most that my wife and I ever spent on dinner was around $1000 for the two of us at Urasawa in Beverly Hills - we had an awesome dining experience. (And that was with no alcohol.) We're pretty big foodies so we've had a number of dinners > $500 for the two of us (French Laundry, Le Bernardin, Meadowood, Manresa, etc.).

I think my wife and I had lunch at Lure Fishbar in NYC last year for $215.
I've been on several dinners with vendors where the tab easily exceeds $200/pp, but I wasn't paying.
We've now trumped this with Kevin Gillespie's Woodfire Grill at around $300, and Rick Bayless' Topolobampo around $280. We will be back to Chicago to go to Ailinea, which I think starts at $195 per person, but there's 9 or 11 courses. Should be fun!
I love eating eating out with friends (especially on vacation), trying new restaurants, and especially trying new craft beers. That being said, I've still never spent more than probably $100 total for my wife and I together and probably somewhere in the $50-$60 range tops for myself.
About $100 for 2 people. That doesn't happen often.
