4 people, $700 in NYC. Don't remember the name of the restaurant as I was pretty drunk but my boss' concierge recommended it and he took our entire team there to celebrate a big project we completed.
$1500 for 5 people (work footed the bill, I signed the check that night)
Around $275-300 for the two of us in "real life". Not a regular occurance but probably 1-2X per year (birthday, anniversary, promotion, other special occasions).

Just got back from NYC -- in the same day:
Lunch - Le Bernadin - 125.00 including tip
Dinner - Daniel - 160.00 including tip
The day before: lunch at Modern the restaurant at MoMA...about 65.00
At the right place the money spent on fine dining is well worth it....and these meals were WELL worth it. Finest meals and dining experience I ever had.
More and more I find I'm going to go by personal recommendations of others.
I don't mind spending money if it's worth it..but it stings to the core to spend 100 on a meal that's NOT worth it.
((Same for a hotel. If I spend 4 star money I want 4 star service. All had better be perfect.))
I took a group of my personal assistants to Per Se once. After a delightful dinner of coddled hen egg, tsar imperial caviar, and Miyazaki Japanese Wagyu, coupled with an elegant bottle of Chateau Laville Haut-Brion, our bill came to a mere $9,000. My generosity to the help pushed the total to $9,050 total for the night. The help at Per Se thanked me after as I was about to leave for the opportunity to serve me.
About $100 for my wife and I, to celebrate our anniversary. For a business dinner once, $600 for a party of 5 (plenty of wine was consumed) to celebrate the close of a large order from a client.
I've been to mirai about 10x... I still don't see how you spent $800 on 2.
Agreed. They must have ordered the most expensive items on the menus + to bottles of booze, I dont think Ive ever spent more then $200ish.
