8 weeks ago I had my wages garnished by a company called Midland Funding LLC. I contacted my payroll and they sent me a copy of the court order. I called the court and they said I had to write a letter to them requesting a hearing.
2 weeks a later I receive a notice for a hearing with a magistrate. At the hearing I explain to the magistrate that I don't know who that company is and that they did not contact me. They contacted my mom by certified letter, and I haven't lived there since 2005. The magistrate said that she couldn't release the garnishment since it was valid. WTF. So I filed for a motion to vacate (this past Wednesday). The next day I pulled my credit report and sure enough that debt was on there. I filed a dispute, today I get an email from Transunion saying that debt has been removed from my credit report. Now what?
Today I got my letter to vacate answer back but I don't understand the wording on it. It says " this matter came for consideration upon plaintiffs motion to vacate dismissal and file entry of judgment. After review, the court does not find the plaintiffs motion to be well taken. It is THEREFORE, ORDERED, ADJUDGED, AND DECREED that the judgement rendered on march 18, 2005, stands. "
Also on the form it's says that midland credit mgmt and I'm listed as the defendant. What does this mean?
