Thank you. It doesn't sound like a service I would have chosen, but people in dire straits look for anything which seems like help.

How did the scam work? I ask because I see a lot of people describing a legitimate company as a "scam", just because they were talked into something they didn't really want to do. So I'm curious how they scammed you. There are legitimate companies out there who will consolidate your debt and negotiate with creditors on your behalf for a fee. Not everyone who offers this service is a "scam" service. Some are, though, so it would be good for people to know what to watch out for.

Caller ID showed the call as a local business, with a local phone number. When I answered, i got the standard spiel about this being the final time they would try to contact me. (It's been a couple of dozen as I recall.) Pressed 1 to talk to someone and a guy with an Indian (India) or Pakistani accent answered and wanted my credit card number. Promptly hung up after telling him I was reporting them. I then called the local business and informed them of the scam being done in their name. They were quite surprised and grateful for letting them know.

What did they do - charge you money to do something or give you something that turned out to be worthless or that you would do yourself?

The fact that Credit Card Solution Services doesn't even show-up on the internet as a legitimate company might be a tip-off. Beyond that, without knowing what you are referring to as a "scam" leaves one wondering if they did/didn't do what was promised --- or if your expectation level was simply unrealistic.

For example, many people in debt get the idea that a debt consolidation company is somehow going to make their debt go away. Others believe that these 'service' companies will be able to call their CC Company an other debtors and negotiate the debt down to pennies on the dollar. Some think they have a magic way to remove bad reports from one's credit rating.

Please tell us what you expected and how this company "scammed" you.
