So with many people coming up on the 1 year anniversary for the Sapphire Reserve card - is there any chance of having the fee waived for the coming year? I am thinking I will just cancel, unless I can justify paying the fee and keeping it for another year.
so far from googling it only the sapphire preferred has had anything done , usually a 60 dollar statement credit is given towards the cost .
nothing seems to be waived on the sapphire reserved . the perks are just to high to do that i guess .
but i may go back to chase monday and see if i give them the 250k in securities for a private client account if i can get the 450.00 fee waived if i take a sapphire on the premise that quite a few brokerages are offering 600 bucks to transfer a sum like that
5/24 is a Chase policy, but I believe even non-Chase cards are included in the count. For example, if you opened four new Amex cards and three new Citi cards in the last two years, you're out of luck.

Honestly? It's probably not enough $ for them to want to bother IME. YMMV

Chase is losing a ton on money on this product. So I doubt they will provide any incentives. Then again, with the benefits and all, the actual cost of the annual fee is more like $100 ($450 minus the travel credit, the Global Entry credit, Priority Pass, etc.). They're not really giving that much up to retain a customer...
This has been one of my favorite cards, especially when combining points from my Freedom card for the 1.5x redemption through UR.
Mathjak - it never hurts to ask. But unless there are some specific reasons to move to Chase in the first place, it seem like a lot of work to save a few hundred bucks. Just my .02 of course. I don't even have a Chase branch anywhere near me to take advantage. I do find it interesting that Chase has no presence in the D.C. area - only a JP Morgan Private Bank.
i know chase will not approve anyone who opened 5 cards in the last 2 years for any of it's cards ..
I opened more than 5 cards in the last 2 years, lol, maybe 14-18 cards. I'm milking American Express. In another year, I might start with Chase again. They did give my husband a Sapphire Reserve or Preffered, I can't remember, with 100,000 points, or something like that. I harvested the points and closed the credit card. What a shameless churner I am.

they just opened down the block , we already have accounts there . i just need a place to store a small part of our assets that i am pulling out of vanguard . they are basically going to baby sit my s&p 500 etf .
the private client aspect will help us when we are ready for a mortgage . just got off the phone with bank of america and they have the merill edge deal . they will give us 600 bucks at the end of 90 days of keeping the securities there . they will go as high as 1200 for 500k for 9 months .
