I have an Insight prepaid card with the “Pay As You Go” plan. My question is, does anybody know how to close my card?

I have read many reviews about the company online and some people say that when they called the customer service number and said they want to to close their card, the customer service representative refused to give a confirmation of the closure of the card. Which makes sense because they have this inactivity fee after 90 days of inactivity so it’s against their interest to close someone’s card. However, Terms & Conditions clearly say that customers can close their cards any time.

I only have a few dollars left on my card and I don’t care if I don’t get them (many people said that they hardly ever send a check with the remaining balance after closing the card) but I want to have an actual confirmation that I did close the card. What is the best way to do it? Calling them or writing an email or do both? If I write an email that I want to close my card, what information should I include in the email? What do I have to do with the card after I close the card?

I use the internal message to contact them for closing the card. The balance is zero. I am afraid to call customer service again because $1 will be charged which will cost an overdraft fee. Here is the dead circle:

What would happen if you just leave things as they are ? If there is no $$ on the card, do they try and charge a fee for just not using the card anymore ?

They will close it automatically if you don't use it after the funds are depleted. I just withdrew all of the funds from my card because they closed my savings account that was paying 5% as part of their online account opening purge of customers and I fully expect it to be closed in 90 days or less.

Ok has stated they have an inactivity fee after 90 days.

So if they just don't use the card Any more, they could incur the inactivity fee.

Ok, read the original document on how to cancel the card. Follow those instructions.

If you need to call customer service to close the card, what do you care if they charge $1. You get a final bill for a dollar. Big whoopie.

Tell them when you contact them, that if they don't Close the account when you mail them back their cut ip card (certified, registered, return receipt requested, video copy of cut up card going into the overnight envelope ) , that yoy WILL go to the police and file a court case against them.

That should do it.

If not, file a court case against them, you will have video for the judge that you cut up the card, mailed it back and got your return receipt requested back.
