Why would you keep 5k in your vehicle? That sounds like a terrible idea in the event of car theft, vehicle fire, car crash etc

I have no problem carrying thousands on me but I don’t do it much anymore. When I used to play poker a lot it would be unheard of to have a couple grand on me and 10k+ at home

I keep a few $20s in my golf bag for tips. Other than that I don't use cash, debit cards or ATMs. Credit Card only. Needless to say, I don't have and have not used checks in over twenty years.

Here's an interesting spin. I know people who regularly carry around 200k or more around in their pocket in the form of cryptocurrency. Probably not smart but I suppose if they lose their hardware wallet they can recover it somewhere else with a code.

that's me. or a normal day I'll have maybe 30 bucks on me. Don't need any more if all I'm doing is going to work and back home.

I routinely carry $ 1,000 - $ 2,000 with me in cash. I don't like using credit cards for everyday purchases. Whichever watch I'm wearing is certain to be worth over $ 10,000, so I'm kind of a mugging waiting to happen.

I use credit cards for everything. I never have more than 200 in my wallet.

Anything more than 400 would probably make me uncomfortable to be holding on me in cash.

I rarely have more than $50 on me and that can last a month or more. Use CC for everything. I only use my debit card at the bank ATM if necessary and never, ever in a machine as payment. I do keep a $20 buried in my wallet in case of emergencies, but mostly I forget I have it. About the only time I have extra cash is if I'm going to yard sales or flea markets. Hubby might have $100-200 but that's because he pays at the fast food places we stop plus he likes to go library sales for used books.

I have a small craft business and even I take CC via Square. Makes for larger sales.

I don't like carrying any cash, so 99% of the time, I don't. I tend to know when I'll need it, so I"ll have the bare minimum. For the taco place that's cash only, I take $20. For a ball game where parking might be cash only, and for food/drinks, $100 max.
