Louisiana Boxer Rescue
Last word was that the lady who suffered the aneurysm has been taken off life support and moved to hospice. Her story is on the website, as well as information on how to adopt. From what I can tell, this lady was responsible for many of the adoption applications and there is some confusion in locating the dogs already applied for.
I need to go on record here that just because you apply does not mean you will automatically get one of the Louisiana Boxer Rescue dogs. Rescues are notoriously "picky" about finding homes for their dogs (and rightfully so!), many of which have been surrendered by their owner, and many that there is no known history on. However, if you adopt a boxer through your local rescue, perhaps that rescue might be able to help out the Louisiana dogs. I feel sure this is not a complete list of dogs available, as rescues are always manned by volunteers and sometimes the website is the last thing to get updated. Some of the dogs available may have heartworms or other health needs - and there are angels out there who take their rehab upon themselves, both financially and in the hands-on rehab process. Any help would be appreciated, not the least of which is prayers for Kim and her family.
