I'm not sure where to ask this question, but does anyone know for sure, is there tax on squirrel food? Sometimes I'm charged tax and sometimes I'm not at the same store, I'd like to know.

I don't know about the tax on the squirrel food but, are you baiting them?
I know you like ground hog, now your feeding the squirrels so you can fry up a mess?
I think you have been hiding the fact that not only do you love N.C. You were born and raised here!!lol

Well here's how it would work in Vermont:

You can buy food for human consumption and there's no sales tax.
When you buy pet food you will pay sales tax.
I'm guessing squirrel food would be about the same as hamster or rabbit food and, thus, taxable.

I grew up in a forested small town with lots of squirrels and we always fed them peanut butter on crackers, walnuts from the trees, and feed-corn on the cob. You could go to the grain elevators or feed store and buy corn for them. Remember when I was a kid there was always spilled gain or corn by the grain elevators when they were filling railroad cars. We’d walk along the tracks and scoop up bags of grain to use for feed.

This is really gross but, my dh eats squirrel dumplings!! My MIL fixes them for him and she also does chicken gizzard in this white sauce or they call it gravey. I can't hardly stand to sit in the same room when they are eating that stuff.

Wish you were here, I think we would be great friends!
