A stallion that never entered a show ring or earned a single championship stands to be the biggest story during the 2008 Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show.

The horse in question, Baske Afire, will be sold at public auction Tuesday by Cedar Ridge Farm in Scottsdale at a price insiders say will exceed $2 million and could hit $5 million.

Horse people use up their superlatives to describe him. They call the 9-year-old breeding stallion perfection, a rare offering, the real thing, or a freak - but in a good way.

Stallion could fetch millions at auction (broken link)

Wow. He's gorgeous!! I once visited an Arabian farm in Lexington, KY that co-owned a stallion w/the Polish government. I thought that was pretty crazy.

I used to have Arabians. He is gorgeous. The bloodlines are great too. Sure makes me wish I still had my mares. They crossed so well with the Bask line. Sigh..................

He is absolutely stunning!!
But $2 mil?! With the way the horse market is now? I find that hard to believe...unless some REAL big time breeder buys him. But I wonder...why was he never shown? That makes me wonder...
