As a pet lover, I'm tired of fur being a condiment, so am designing a completely pet free kitchen.

They have defeated me.

I've also redesigned my furniture, am in process of finishing my living room replete with reupholstered everything, so that it doesn't hold fur, & furniture frames that are basically 'pet proof'.

Now if I can only get them away from my laundry, & my favorite wool blanket, which is now their favorite wool blanket.
This one stumps me to be honest.

My entire thought process has evolved to a certain state of...I dunno exactly what, but I'm sure they are inside of my head.

Last week, it crossed my mind that worrying about pet fur on a wool blanket (scarf/sweater/rug)
is 1). ironic, 2). defies logic, 3). adds insulation.

They have brought me over to the dark side.

Having had labs for about 20 years I can relate, I just give up and buy things that match their hair color. Also why we have no carpet, yes it shows hair easier but a quick sweep and its gone.......ish.

I used to have 2 golden retrievers. In FL, the older homes have AC air intakes in the ceiling. I once observed a whirlwind of dog fur rising up from the hardwood floor under the intake. And I never wore dark clothes.

Ever heard of, or been to Safari Goldens in Chester WV?
It's an absolute Wonderland.
I boarded my dog there for 3 weeks, used to visit on weekends when my girl was a pup for socialization. I never wanted to leave! Betsy is an amazing woman!

Buy a lint roller. Seriously, it helps tremendously!

For many years of my adult life I didn't have any furbeasts. Pets were either a bird or reptiles. When I adopted my first dog (and they've been pretty wash-and-wear dogs, not anything that requires much maintenance) it was an eye-opener to realize how much more I needed to clean everything. Hair and dander dust on clothing, furniture, on sheets and blankets, wafting above floors, even magically migrating to my workplace. I think I'm finally over the worst of the shock and no longer fight the losing battle. It just is what it is. A humorous quip when apologizing for hair in the soup is about all I do.

It is extremely important to only associate with fellow furbeast slaves too. They get it.

If/when I adopt a new dog that happens to be a different color I take the view that it's a great excuse to update the old wardrobe, couch slipcover or rug.

I buy everything to match my dogs. Automobiles are selected to suit the dogs. My carpet is the color of dog fur.

The only animal in my house now has 1/4 inch long fur that only sheds seasonally. When she sheds, it looks like little blond eye lashes. It makes me disoriented. Something is just wrong with this picture.
