I realize this is the pet forum, but I wasn't sure where else to post this! Russia is making it illegal to hunt seal pups under a year old. It's not really hunting, it's just mass murder anyway.

Sort of reminds me of what happened to all the American buffalo when they used to just kill them for their fur and tongues (a delicacy that was shipped back over the England). The mass slaughter decimated the herds.
