1st of all, the closest bus, SEPTA stop from my apartment is too far for me to walk with my health condition.

With my work discount, I can get an Amtrak ticket from Philly to NY for $15 one way. I plan on going to visit family and wanted to know of the best place to park? From research, people have suggested that I park at one of the airport parking places and then take the septa down to 30th street station. ($14 round trip on Septa and then $20 parking after tax = $34)

I know that is an option which will work. But is there a parking spot near 30th street station? Leaving Friday coming back Sunday night the 1st weekend of August.

I would try a different SEPTA Regional Rail station that has cheaper parking and ride to 30th Street Station from there.

Where do you live (roughly speaking) and what Regional Rail stations are closest to where you live?

I'm not sure how much parking costs at the Norristown Transportation Center, but they do have a parking garage there adjacent to the R6 and Route 100 (Norristown High-Speed Line) stations. There may also be covered (i.e. more secure) parking available in say Conshohocken near its R6 station.

If you wouldn't be uncomfortable parking your car in a surface lot for a few days, any station along the R6 or Route 100 would be a possibility; many of those lots, or at least the ones along the Route 100, would be free. (The Route 100 would require a transfer to the Market-Frankford Line at the 69th Street Terminal; also fares on the Route 100 as well as the transfer to the MFL are a little goofy/confusing.) Along the Route 100 Gulph Mills (near the Schuylkill Expressway/Blue Route interchange) is a pretty busy station with a relatively large parking lot (albeit one that I believe does get filled up on weekdays).

You could always park at the garage right next to 30th street station if you're willing to shell out some dough. The rate was $25/day last time I was there a few months ago.

Another option is to drive to Trenton, cheaper parking and you can actually take NJ Transit at 1/4th the cost of Amtrak

In all honesty it probably faster than Septa regional rail to 30th St plus Amtrak and likely just as fast or faster, I suggest Lot three is you click on the link to Trenton station below

That's a distance from Blue Bell and with the OP's work discount, AMTRAK will only cost $15 one way.

Blue Bell to Trenton is roughly equivelent to the distance to 30th street, at least time wise, plus you can still take Amtrak from Trenton. Just another option, and probably quicker overalll

Another option might be to drive to Amtrak's Ardmore station. There is free parking at Suburban Square, right across the street.

Amtrak - Stations - Ardmore, PA (ARD)
