I am just wondering if anything has changed recently besides getting the shinny new soccer stadium. Any other changes (positive?) going on in Chester, PA?

I was just at a baby shower at the Community Center and it was a fairly nice facility on a wide-laned new road. And of course, Harrah's Casino is in Chester. Those are my "positives". I got lost leaving the baby shower, and it was NOT pleasant.

Chester has gotten progressively worse since the 50's. Appears to be a hopeless situation with no end in sight.

The northern 1/3 of the city used be very well kept, clean and safe up till about 10-20 years ago, but that area has recently gone down the toilet like the rest of the city.

Well I guess I was asking if there were any signs of change. I didn't think a soccer stadium that opened 2 months ago would quickly effect a city that has been in the dumper for 50 years.

I did read the other day that the soccer team won a prize from Pepsi for $50,000 to build a new park in the city.

What about the $100s of millions of investment that is supposedly coming to the waterfront (besides the stadium)? Is it still coming?

If you consider nearly a Summer Long "State of Emergency" with a curfew of 9PM better! Then sure!

It could be if the curfew was 8pm last year.
