Hi everyone,

My wife and I are on the verge of purchasing a home in the Manoa / Lynwood section of Havertown. The house is great and the neighborhood seems the same. However, I'd just like to get an idea from others in the area as to how the neighborhood, school district, etc are. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

My buddy lives there and his house is always an unfinished mess. I truly feel for his neighbors. Other than that it seems like the neighborhood is nice and people are still paying good money to live there. If you're blue collar you'll probably love it, if not, probably not. Have you looked at Pilgrim Gardens Drexel Hill at all. They are in the Haverford SD and have a very close knit neighborhood; very charming IMO though some houses may be small and/or dated.

My impression of Havertown is the same. Blue collar that can afford it.

We are looking at Havertown if/when we sell our house, but in Delaware County Blue collar usually equals right-wing / afraid of your own shadow, which we do not care for.

Two areas of Havertown that seem to be more middle of the road are Chatham Park and Merrwood Park.

Not living in Havertown, I am definitely not an expert....yet.

FWIW, the blue collar areas of Delco all went to Obama in the last election. In fact, most of Delaware County went to Obama except for the rural, wealthy areas.
Truth be told, much of Delco were big Hilary Clinton supporters.
The blue collar people I know in Delco are usually middle of the road Democrats.
Where do you live?
