Philadelphia was chosen by SmarterTravel.com as a top destination for winter travel. I agree, Philadelphia is amazing during the winter season.

That's rather interesting and pleasantly surprising. Then again, areas like Center City and Chestnut Hill do look nice dressed up with holiday decorations and are easy to get around by foot or transit.

I agree, the entire Delaware Valley is amazing during the holidays.

I'm going to be visiting Philly on the 26th and 27th of this month. I've been to Philly a number of times (and plan to move up in 6 months). Is there anything that my wife and I should see/do in the city around this time of the year? We're staying in Rittenhouse (on 17th St), and had originally just planned to hit some museums and restaurants.

Dont forget to vist the Center City Macy's and see the light show and Dickens Village. Also visit the Comcast center for the 3D show and take a tour of City Hall and go to the top of the tower.
