I looked through most of the city wage tax threads, but have not found the answer to this question. If you own an apartment in Philadelphia, but it is a vacation home... a pied a terre or second home, not the primary residence, are you still subject to the city wage tax?

City wage taxes only apply to those working in Philadelphia I believe.

Somebody will correct me on that if I'm wrong.

Actually, all residents of Philly pay the wage tax regardless of where they work. As far as the OP, this comes from the phila.gov site:
"Resident" means an individual, co-partnership, association or other entity
domiciled in the City of Philadelphia. "Domicile" is a place where a person has
his true, fixed, permanent home and principal establishment, to which, whenever
absent therefrom, he intends to return and continues until another permanent
home and principal establishment is acquired."

It sounds like you're in the clear, but I would check with an accountant to be sure.

if you file your fed and state returns elsewhere then you are not a resident of Philly.

Good to know
I live and work 75 minutes from downtown and I've been thinking about getting a weekend place in center city, and it would make much more financial sense if I wouldn't lose another 3% of my income by doing so.
