Cheapest option is the Megabus, only $5. It does take between 1hr50mins and 2hrs 30mins though so only recommended if you're on a very tight budget.

I drive from Ardmore to Hamilton and take NJT, daily. With all the Amtrak issues getting into/out Penn, NJT trains is pretty much the same speed, but more frequent (my hours are not too predictable). I work downtown so I get off at Newark and take the PATH. It's about half the price of Amtrak all included and about the same time from Ardmore. I rarely hit traffic because I drive against the flow.
