Hello all,

I previously posted a thread that mentioned my attending the Art Institute of Philadelphia in the fall and received some responses that suggested I rethink my attending said institute. I have since found a school by the name of The Recording Connection Audio Institute and wondered if anyone was familiar with this school and what your thoughts were on it. I'd really love to hear native/resident responses!

Thanks so much!

Jessika

It is a legitimate school with a large client base. Unfortunately many forum poster seem to attack it because it doesn't fall into the classic school system.

What's wrong with the Art Institute that people changed your mind about it?

As far as I am aware, there is no problem with recording connection so long as you are fully aware that it's no guaranteed entry into the studio system plus you have to work hard.

They've been going for around 2 decades so they must be doing OK.

Both are good schools IMO and there is nothing wrong with the Art Institute. If I may suggest others, the Curtis Institute of Music and the University of the Arts are both very good as well, however, UArts can be very pricey. Temple University's Esther Boyer College of Music and Dance is also pretty good, but once again, Temple can get pretty pricey.

Just some other options in case you need it.

IMO, you are very unlikely to find a city-data poster who can qualify for entry into Curtis - the most selective school in the U.S Top 100 - Lowest Acceptance Rates | Rankings | US News In fact Temple, UArts and especially the Art Institute shouldn't even be mentioned in the same Forum as Curtis.

That's actually rather fascinating. I figured Curts might be right there with Juilliard in terms of low acceptance rates...but it would appear that it has passed that threshhold, let alone that of schools with broader curriculums.

Blew Harvard, Princeton, West Point and MIT out of the water. Probably easier for El Diablo to get past the Pearly Gates.
