I was going to use the works 'bulldoze into the ground', 'King of Prussia' and 'better quality of life' in my response above. Glad you did it.

Ditto on the anti-mall sentiments. If I have to go shopping and buy a bunch of stuff quickly - I'll drive out to the Phila Premium outlets in Limerick. Mall stuff is way over-priced...considering how little the retailers paid to manufacture their clothing.

I'm not necessarily "in love" with malls myself, although I have to say that I'm partial to Willow Grove Park if only because it was my hometown mall.

For better or worse, King of Prussia Court & Plaza is the second biggest mall in the country. At the very least, one could get a lot of exercise walking around there. If you like an abundance of upscale goods in one stop, there's your place.

Interestingly enough, I've been in the vicinity of the Plymouth Meeting Mall three times in the last several months but haven't actually stepped inside in at least a decade.

Cheltenham Square has definitely seen better days. While technically in the 'burbs, for all intents and purposes it serves the city and its urban tastes. While I wouldn't expect a "King of Prussia" experience there, it's unfortunate that it never reached its potential... or that perhaps it has peaked.

Other areas seem to be in the process of turning many of their malls "inside out" into walkable "town centers". Whether it's weather or inertia that is holding would-be investors back, it's an idea that is worth looking into.

if you want to talk about bulldozing a mall to the ground, start with the Gallery in Market East . . . and bulldoze the 3 blocks east of it while you're at it.

Default Best mall

Willow grove mall is great. Plymouth meeting has better things around it like the whole foods. Those two get my vote. Of Kop mall is the giant but it's too far from my house.

Can we include malls in Northeast Philly? I know everyone hates the Roosevelt Mall, but I live right near there. There are a few good places at that mall (Modell's for example). Franklin Mills is just annoying because it makes you walk forever. The Sam Ash at Franklin Mills is alright, but most of the other places... eh.

For me, there is King of Prussia and King of Prussia only. Maybe Plymouth Meeting if there's a particular movie I want to see.

From what I recall, the Cherry Hill Mall seemed as if it had seen better days. Then again, I haven't been there since the summer of 2007, so perhaps it's improved since then?
