Well, there's also Fuel too. lol

But, it doesn't change what I said: there are a bunch of empty store fronts and Suburban Sq is loosing its anchor store. What do the owners of SS plan on doing with that big effing building once it's empty?

Look, I grew up near Ardmore. I care about it. I do business nearby. But I just don't see any big things going on.

I think Inga is right on the spot with her review of the LOVE Park plans. I think it will be a nice compliment to Dilworth Park.

And I have to say, I am absolutely in love with Dilworth Park. It has really come alive over the last six months. It's pretty consistently vibrant, even later at night. It truly is the centerpiece that the city needed...an excellent urban apron around a truly architectural gem.

I don't know how often many of you make it down to Passyunk Square (my hood), but there have been some great improvements in the neighborhood. Here are some to consider:

1. 12th and Passyunk Intersection getting rehabbed: Improvements being finalized for wonky intersection at 12th and Passyunk | Passyunk Post

2. Gateway project at Snyder, Passyunk, Broad:Ground officially broken for East Passyunk gateway project | Passyunk Post

3. Walk! Philadelphia signs are now hung on lamp-posts just like in Center City.

4. New restaurants opening all the time: Grace and Pat's (from owner of Lombardi's in NYC, and Gennaro's in PB), Palladino's, Punk Burger, etc.

5. Fundraising has been strong for Columbus Square rehab (the numbers on the site haven't been updated): Project | Columbus Square Park

6. There aren't too many empty lots or parking lots, but the ones that do exist are getting filled in with new houses all the time. But of course, there are some struggles too....like the 9th and Wharton Development, which is getting a lot of push-back due to parking and density concerns: Renderings of proposed 9th and Wharton development | Passyunk Post

But the bright side is that we'll have a beer garden at that intersection this summer: PHS pop-up beer garden coming to 9th and Wharton this summer | Passyunk Post

If you haven't been down this way in a while, you should consider it. Enjoy the spring everyone!

For once I liked what she wrote. And I really like the plans for LOVE Park. She also wrote about what may happen to Lancaster Mews, near 36th and Lancaster, as developers may try to buy it to throw up more subpar housing to rent to students. One can see some of might end up there on Spring Garden St nearby.
