I have no idea, I don't follow football at all. But it would be good press for the city if the draft came back for another year or 2.

It was held in NYC for years and years at Radio City Music Hall, then they moved it outdoors to Chicago in consecutive years before it came to Philly. That's why there was a hope that it would go to Philly again, because Chicago had it twice.

I'm disappointed but also a little glad it's not coming here next year because it will be very hard to top this year's experience. We'll also be able to compare the amazing urban fabric of Philadelphia and the asphalt kingdom of AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX, and laugh.

The 100 Most Influential People in Philadelphia - Philadelphia Magazine

A fun read. 100 spotlights are too many, because I don't think half that list deserves the title as "most influential Philadelphians" Some are much deserved though.

These lists are often ridiculous. What the devil are unproven Sixers players doing on this? Lol.
At least Rendell wasn't on it!

It's a certainty it will be back - just a question of when and what rotation the NFL settles into.

Curbed Philly is reporting that LOVE Park will have a "soft" opening next month. So it will still be a construction site with the Christmas Village which really belongs in Dilworth Park from now on. Sigh.

Philadelphia archdiocese moves forward with vision to redevelop cathedral campus near Logan Square

Quote:
It is still unclear what might be built in place of the three properties. In renderings presented to members of the Logan Square Neighbors Association last year, the archdiocese envisioned the construction of two sleek, high-rise buildings that would house mostly residential units, the archdiocese said. The building to the north, which appeared in the initial rendering as a 44-story glass tower, would feature ground-floor retail and restaurant space, the archdiocese imagined. To the east, it envisioned a 33-story tower that could accommodate archdiocesan administrative offices on its lower floors. Between both buildings, landscaped paths dotted the area.
