Some great new direct flights. Stinks the direct to Mexico City didn't meet expectations.
This is some great news. I especially like Lufthansa upgrading their aircraft. I always thought that PHL's biggest downfall was it's lack of service from foreign carriers. Thankfully that has started to change with the introduction of Icelandair, Qatar, and Aer Lingus over the last few years. That's pretty good for an airport within very close distance to three much bigger international ones (EWR, JFK, and IAD).

My hope is that American continues to switch flights over to PHL since United is attempting corner the airport market in New York.

Hopefully that will eventually come with a direct-to-Asia route (Shanghai? Tokyo?).

I agree with street sweeping, but it would also be helpful if homeowners and tenants swept the small area of sidewalk or curb in front of their home. It would certainly help and cure problems like the picture shown in the article.

But I guess that is too much to ask of people to take pride in their neighborhood nowadays.

One of the biggest contributors to street trash is that residents are not required to put the garbage collection on their sidewalk in plastic trash bags. Easy fix. I can't imagine how this is permitted. Rain only exacerbates the problem.

People here are just flat out ignorant and trifling. Saw a woman on Belfield and 15th just open here car door and just toss out all of her car trash (Probably a weeks worth) into the middle of the street. Saw some guy just drop all of his fast food trash outside of his car next to the curb while there was an empty trash can just 10 feet away.

Sorry, love my hometown but something's just all out wrong with the way many of these halfwits think.

It's a psychological thing. An underlying lack of empathy in general and lack of respect for their surrounding environment probably originating from an upbringing that did not instill these values.

It's not actually. Been going on in Spring Garden/Fairmount for a long time. Trash cleanup. Leaf cleanup. Snow removal on sidewalks.

Wrt other neighborhoods, I don't get it either.
