Great news. Sounds like it will be nice.

Faherty, Joybird, Mejuri, Alo Yoga are open or almost open on Walnut. That burned hole is the missing link in Walnut these days.

A wellness center (botox, weight loss, etc.) opened at 1216 Walnut, former Rikumo store.

And a Grocery Outlet opened on N. American Street, and Mantua may finally get a full supermarket.

Not sure if this was shared, but Philadelphia becoming the 8th US city to receive a Michelin Green Guide is great. Maybe a red guide one day?

Liberty Bell, Longwood Gardens among destinations awarded Michelin stars in new Philadelphia guidebook
https://www.bizjournals.com/philadel...tars-list.html

First announced on May 10, the Philadelphia guidebook will be available in English starting in June. The French language version was released in France, Switzerland and Belgium in March.

Philadelphia is the eighth U.S. city to receive a Michelin Green Guide. The guidebook provides an in-depth look into a city and what it has to offer, awarding “star” ratings to different facets of a destination’s tourism experience, including attractions and specific aspects of those attractions. For example, the Philadelphia Museum of Art as a whole received three stars, but several of the collections and pieces of art within the museum were also recognized.

Unlike Michelin's Red Guide, the Green Guide does not give stars to hotels or restaurants.

Michelin chose Philadelphia for several reasons, including for it being the "best gateway" to both the U.S. and the East Coast because of the ease of Philadelphia International Airport compared to larger airports in nearby cities. Orain also noted Philadelphia's accessibility to other big cities such as Washington, D.C., and New York. He called Philadelphia "the most important historical city in the U.S." as the birthplace of America and therefore a way for international travelers to be introduced to the country.

^I hope so. Our food scene deserves it and our Four Seasons can stand up to the best hotels in the world.

Wasn't certain about the appropriate place to post this, but I wanted to share some positive news.

Thank you for posting! Our family is car-free which wouldn’t be possible without a dense, accessible environment. I’d encourage anyone who’d like to do the same to make sure there is a couple good grocery stores nearby and a clear route to work (I use public transportation for my job when necessary).

Another thing that would make this better is increasing pedestrian safety measures, such as no turn signs for cross walks and restoring some of the sidewalks. If the city got it together on a trash measure that would be golden! There’s no reason to have bags out when uniform containers can be implemented (and hopefully help those doing this critical role).

Good news again for Philadelphia. Company valued at 2B is moving in and bringing environmental solutions (hopefully more jobs as well).

Friday Saturday Sunday won outstanding restaurant, Ellen Yin won for Outstanding restaurateur, and Suntanaron from Kalaya won best chef, Mid Atlantic at the James Beard awards. It’s great for Philly to win the best restaurant in the country and two other major awards, it should bring some more foodie tourists.

^ I was just about to post this. Excellent news for Philadelphia food scene!

It was also a big weekend in Philadelphia (last weekend)... The Rittenhouse Art Fair, Pride Weekend, Ed Sheeran concert, Eva Max concert, the Roots picnic, and something big was at the convention center. Great to see momentum and energy in the city lately.

A well deserved win for Philadelphia at the Beard awards. The more I travel the more I realize how outstanding Philly's food scene is. Would be lying if I said I didn't miss it.
