Have official estimates been released yet? If true, that's exciting for the city to have another year of strong growth from 2012.
Don't really need official estimates to be honest. Just walking around and seeing all the new apartment/condo construction is enough to tell you that the city's population is still growing.

I'm with you, but not everyone's there to experience it daily.. I wish I was, but I'll get there soon.

I would think there are benefits to having the numbers represented officially, in terms of politics, money and investment into the city.

Well the census typically only does an official count every ten years. The numbers for 2012 were released earlier this years so I'm sure the numbers for 2013 will be released early next year.

Yeah, I wish the shimmer wall faced the Parkway and not Logan Square. However there are several more large apartment towers planned for Logan Square. That should help build it up more
