I wonder what the major company is that relocating to philly? any guesses?

Sounds good. On top of the 1 million sq foot facility at the South Street Bridge would be great to see more jobs and research ones in the city.

I wonder on the Corporate relo - from the metro or outside and the location (CC or the navy Yard seem like the top location prospects)

Also will be curious to see what happens with the recently sold land where the ACC was planned to go.

Guess we ill see

Hopefully more jobs downtown regardless

My list would be:

-Population between 1.5 and 1.6 million.
-Increased density in and around the downtown core of Center City. Decreased density in the poorest neighborhoods as residents leave and move further out.
-More high rises downtown and around certain locations outside CC (Temple, UPenn/Drexel) but nothing too high. I see most things being built between 10-30 stories.
-Redevelopment of the Market East corridor with new higher-end retail and new signature retail and commercial buildings, with the inclusion of LED signage on the exteriors.
-Conversion of the routes 23, 56, and 79 into trolleybuses.
-Continued gentrification in GradHo, Point Breeze, that weird area east of EPX, the corridor in North Philly along Girard west of Broad St. to Fairmount Park, East Falls, Norris Square, the area around Temple, Baltimore Ave. approaching 52nd St. and Walnut Hill.
-Less possible gentrification in greater Kensington, Mantua, and southern Strawberry Mansion.
-Somewhat lower crime rates. I see most of the high crime areas shifting further out, but not leaving the city entirely.
-It's a toss up what happens to parts of further North Philly and the lower NE. Either immigration stabilizes some neighborhood or working class flight, depreciating property values and influx of low-income often high-risk residents continues to degrade them.
-Redevelopment along North Broad St as empty space increases in value and is turned over for development. The corridor between City Hall and Temple U, and immediately north of Temple will receive attention.
-Restoration of passenger rail service to Reading
-Broad Street Subway extension to the Navy Yard
-Some redevelopment of the Delaware waterfront. I don't expect the whole plan to be put into place, but some combination of public and private projects will still change big chunks of the waterfront.
-High(er) speed rail along Amtrak's NE corridor.
-The music scene will continue to kick ass.
-We'll still be cooler than NYC.
-The food will still be awesome.

I wonder how major is "major". The article did mention a groundbreaking on a new corporate headquarters too. Hmmm...pretty exciting for the city. I will be closely following this.
