Job relocation to Coatsville, PA.
Where is a great city to live around there?
We have a child that is going to be in Pre-K, and one is in elementary and a dog.
Looking for great school district, close to everything, safe-well established neighborhood for house/condo/townhome. Safe to walk around with kids and dog. Prefer newer building.
Willing to commute to Coatsville 30-40 mins, in good condition road.

We need input, please, thanks in advance.

Just go in any direction outside of Coatesville and you'll be fine. Downingtown is the obvious choice. Good schools, good choice of housing and close to West Chester (cool town) and Coatesville for work. I would hesitate to go too far out due to travel in bad weather. The further east you go, the more expensive the houses and the more crowded it becomes.

Yes, Coatesville itself seems to be the least desired of any community surrounding it. As toobusytoday said, you'll be fine in any of the nearby areas. Let your housing budget be your guide.

Honeybrook might be what you're looking for. They have an excellent public library and they're well located. There's a new townhouse development called Cheltenham in East Earl Township on route 23 that looks fairly upscale. Its honestly out of place in amish country but location wise its not bad.

I would say move to west chester, easttown, malvern area. Very established, safe, affluent suburbs with top notch schools, shopping, and dining.

We've lived in Downingtown for the last 15 years and just love it. It' convenient to most things (we're close to the PA Turnpike, Routes 100, 113, 30 and 202) and has great schools. Highly recommended!

Thank you!

I hope everybody had an awesome 4th of July celebration!

I'll definitely look into those suggested areas, I read and heard most of the names such as Downington, Exton, West Chester, we're looking to fly there by the end of the month. So we'll see.... I appreciate the info guys....
