Hi all,

I may be getting a job in Bala Cynwyd and have been looking at apartments in the area. I have been using Google Maps and selecting apartments within a drive time of 30 minutes. What would a 20-30 minute Google Maps drive time be like during rush hour? Doubled? Or maybe another 10 or 15 minutes?

In addition, almost all of the apartments I am looking at seem to require driving along 76 or 1. If the commute is along 76, would be even longer than otherwise?

Towns I am looking at include: Wyncote, Broomall, Plymouth Meeting, Elkins Park, Willow Grove, Folsom, East Norriton, Devon, Lafayette Hill, KOP, Wayne, Secane, Jeffersonville, Glenolden, Jenkintown, Norristown, Media, Audubon, Plymouth Township, Aldan - yes it's an unreasonably long list at this point!

Thanks for any and all help!

Traffic can be a killer there. You can't find anything arund the Bala Cynwyd Center on St Asaphs or Conshohocken State Roads? I'd also look along Montgomery Ave in Merion, Penn Valley, Ardmore or Haverford before I'd commute 45 minutes.

I was a Police Officer there, I am telling you what my experience dictates. It only takes one accident or a snow storm to turn a 40 minuter commute into 3 hours.

I do believe you, but unfortunately it still doesn't answer my question. Is 45 minutes in real-life time equal to 45 minutes on Google Maps? 30? 20? I am looking to cap my commute at 30 minutes, but I need to figure out what 30 minutes of real time is, in terms of the times offered by Google Maps, in order to avoid the 45 minute commute...

There are too many variables. For some of tthe places you mentioned you could stay in Newark and make better time
