Looks like the family and I are moving as soon as we can sell our house. Once we do we'd love to find a short term rental, that allows small dogs, so we can get a feel for the area and buy something. I have a feeling we'll end up in Chester Springs/Downingtown but finding a short term rental would be great so we can take away the pressure of finding something right away.

Any ideas? I know these types of rentals are pretty rare.

We used to live in Downingtown and raised our kids there for 10 years...loved it. Check out the area around Shamona Creek Elementary in Downingtown PA. If you find the right house, and qualify for a mortgage, the owners may consider renting to you till your old house sells if they don't need their money right away. I think they call it an extended settlement date..could alow you to not have to move twice...something that is not fun with kids.
