It will be our first face to face meeting since coming each other online and wanted to know what would be a nice area to meet for a 1st date? Thanks

Generally speaking, most any Center City neighborhood would do. Rittenhouse Square in particular would be a comfortable and convenient spot to meet up for an afternoon date.

Chestnut Hill would work too as would Passyunk Square.

Tone509 pretty much stole my thunder. Center City is a great place for a first date, minus The Gallery, way too many teens for me. Chestnut Hill along Germantown ave,so many cool coffee shops and eateries.

Sol, Sol, Sol! So what? The Gallery is apparently just one place in an area replete with different places. If you don't like ice cream you don't go to the ice cream parlor, if you don't like sushi you don't go to the sushi place, if you don't like to be around teenagers then don't go to, "The Gallery". Instead of zeroing in on really silly negatives, just say thank you to those who've taken the time to respond and then do some research of your own. You have after all lived and worked in Philly all your life which has already spanned almost four decades, so it's not as though you're a newcomer.

Rittenhouse Square! Do it! The neighborhood, and the park itself, are gorgeous and there's lots of great places to sit down and get something to eat or drink around.

Don't choose a casual place, she might wear sneakers, and ruin your expectations.

I would meet someplace nice, but close to where you live. For a first date, I'd meet up at Tria (a little wine bar), or if you want to be more casual you could meet at a coffeehouse or something in a quaint place like Chestnut Hill and then walk around the shops or feed the ducks at the park.

I had to laugh at you suggesting that OP meet some place nice, but close to where he lives. TVSG won't travel more than 15 min for work. Rest assure, he won't go too far out of his way for a date, he picked-up on Craigslist.

TVSG are you trying to meet a year end "dating quota" like you attemped last year? How many dates can you have before year's end?
